Local Insight to Guide Your New Orleans Experience

Chimes is owned and operated by Charles and Jill Abbyad, longtime locals who know the soul of the city. Charles spent over 30 years as the Maître d’ at Arnaud’s, the legendary Creole restaurant in the French Quarter. Jill brings a lifelong love of music to every guest experience—always staying up to date on the best live acts, jazz clubs, and neighborhood gems.

Together, they’ve created a warm and welcoming retreat where guests are treated like old friends. Whether you’re looking for the best bites, hidden tours, or local artists to see live, your hosts are happy to share personal recommendations (including where and when to make reservations).

“Chimes B&B was the perfect home base for our anniversary trip to New Orleans. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the two courtyards offered private space for relaxation. One great benefit was the location--halfway between St. Charles Avenue, where you can jump on the streetcar, and Magazine Street, where you can jump on the bus. (There are also lots of dining options in the neighborhood, and the hosts offer a curated list.) Maybe the nicest thing was how quiet the property was--blissfully quiet after a Saints game and several visits to Frenchmen Street. We really looked forward to the sound of the windchimes as we walked down from the streetcar stop.”
